SAVE THE DATE: This year’s PINK GAME is Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 vs. Pope John at 4PM.
Each year, the Montville girls’ basketball team selects a home game to fundraise and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.
In 2016-17, we focused our efforts on both helping a Montville family in need and again donating to the American Cancer Society. We ended up raising $840 in SHOOT-A-THON money for the Montville family in need, and $550 in PINK GAME (played on 2/17 vs. Morris Knolls) donations for the American Cancer Society. The $1,390 ups our program’s grand total of money fundraised to $8,780!
The 2015-16 PINK GAME was on Friday, 2/5 vs. Whippany Park. From donations at the door, gathering sponsors for our players’ SHOOT-A-THON, and receiving donations from Robert R. Lazar Middle School’s teachers we raised a total of $1,290 in the 2015-16 season.
The 2014-15 PINK GAME was versus Mendham on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 7:00PM at Montville HS. From the donations at the door, our shoot-a-thon, and our winter beanie sales, we raised over $1,700 the 2014-15 season to help fight and end this disease!
In the 2013-14 season, with the help of Lynn/Bussey's Robert R. Lazar Middle School advisory class, over $3,200 was raised for the American Cancer Society. That earned us 5th place nationally as a team in the Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising leaderboard!
In 2012-13, our inaugural “PINK GAME”, we raised $1,200. We are looking to beat those numbers each and every year. Please join us in the fight and donate to our team and help us save more lives!
Why We Support the American Cancer Society
Montville Girls Basketball's participation in the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative supports the American Cancer Society, the leader in the fight to end cancer. The donations our team raises will enable investment in groundbreaking cancer research and free information and services for people facing cancer. For 100 years, the American Cancer Society has led the way in the fight to end cancer – and we are excited to be part of their team.
